2nd Cooking Class at Moore Place Shelter – Cooking Up Connection and Community

🍢 Learning, Laughing, and Grilling Together

Mosaic of Charlotte recently hosted its 2nd Cooking Class at Moore Place Shelter, and it was a sizzling success! From prepping fresh ingredients to firing up the grill, participants dove into an engaging culinary session where we learned to make Shish Kebab and Lavash from scratch.

Using specialty tools, residents and volunteers alike worked side-by-side to create delicious, authentic dishes. The aroma of grilled kebabs and warm bread filled the space, creating not just a meal—but a moment of shared celebration.

💬 More Than a Cooking Class

These cooking classes are about much more than just food. They’re about:

  • Empowerment through learning

  • Joyful, hands-on experiences

  • Bridging community through shared culture and meals

Laughter echoed through the kitchen, stories were exchanged, and friendships were deepened—all over open flames and fresh ingredients.

💙 Why It Matters

At the heart of these events is a mission to uplift, connect, and empower. By offering interactive, nourishing experiences like this, Mosaic of Charlotte continues to build bonds that strengthen our city’s sense of belonging and care.

We are incredibly grateful for the chance to share our skills and culture with the incredible residents of Moore Place, and we can’t wait for the next delicious gathering.
